Catamaran lifting and storage
The purchase of a Roodberg trailer enables the lifting and storage of vessels up to 60' in length and max 40,000 kg weight at our long term storage facility at Rudy Maas Marina -

filming with mcc vessels
mcc provided vessels and crew for filming on the Gold Coast. Aquane provided a stable platform for 90' light towers. Support vessels for towage were MPV Victory, Tug Typhoon and Poly. -
Rudy Maas Marina
Rudy Maas Marina was purchased in 2019 for storage of equipment and vessels. There is room for expansion in the future. MCC will eventually move the office to RMM with purpose designed buildings. RMM was a derelict marina and requires a great deal of work to upgrade. Work is proceeding. RMM has been used as a film location since the 1980s and continues to be used as such. RMM is now also available for long term storage for large vessels. -
Headstock cutting with Underwater Diamond Wire Saw and associated works
The Underwater Diamond Wire Saw was designed and built for MCC to use for removal of large concrete headstocks and caissons. Dredging, core drilling and debris removal were also part of the works provided by MCC. -

MPV Victory used as the launch platform for spectacular fireworks display off Surfers Paradise -
Piling Works
MCC used Aquane, Victory, Auckland 1,Typhoon and Albatross for piling works for jetty and pontoon installation on the Gold Coast -
Calliope Bridge Inspection
Specialized underwater inspection of piles. MCC were asked to clean the piles, inspect for damage and identify which piles needed to be removed by crack mapping. Project completed successfully -

Fender Pile Repairs
MCC worked with East Coast Wharf Constructions to transfer replacement piles and wale beam to the piling barge at MSQ base in Pinkenba. After access was obtained to the site MCC's tug, Typhoon was used for the return tow with the removed piles and wale beam. ECWC's piling barge used its crane and piling frame to easily complete required works. MCC undertook wharf works including installing the anti-splitting plates and painting of the new fender piles and assisting with any installation works from the deck of the wharf. Fender piles were removed using the barge crane and new fender piles installed with the piling frame and pile driving equipment. -
Beacon works
MCC removed all furniture from the existing beacon and extracted the pile. MCC appointed a surveyor to supply coordinates to install new pile within 5m radius of the existing damaged pile. Supply and drive the 406 mm OD pile using hammer drop. Fabricated and installed aluminium work platform, ladder brackets, ladder support clamp daymarks with frame, lampstand and Anode support brackets. Supplied and installed anodes by welded on clamp under water. The pile cap was wrapped with DENSO® 100 Steelcoat. When completed, MCC then extracted old S11 pile. -
Storm Surge Tide Gauge Installation
MCC have designed, fabricated, and installed storm tide gauges and undertaken modifications and maintenance on existing structures for the Queensland Government (DES) and have designed and installed wave height measuring equipment for the CSIRO in NSW. Storm tide gauge sites where MCC have successfully completed new installations and maintenance works include Southport, Shorncliffe, Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Burnett Heads, Gladstone, Lucinda, Cardwell, Palm Cove, Burketown, Bowen and most recently the Noosa storm tide gauge replacement in accordance with designs provided by DES. MCC utilise specialist stainless steel and aluminium fabricators to fabricate the components and all installation works are conducted by experienced MCC personnel. Electrical installation works are performed by appropriate licenced electricians with experience in installations in harsh conditions. -
Houseboat Salvage
The vessel capsized in the Broadwater and needed to be removed. After the upper deck structure was dismantled, the vessel was successfully righted and pumped out sufficiently enough for to tow to Rudy Maas Marina for removal from the water, dismantling and disposal. -
Burleigh Heads National Park Salvage
MCC were contracted to recover, remove and transport the wreckage of a sailing vessel from its position on the rocks on Burleigh headland, which is a National Park. There was no vehicular access so a helicopter was utilized. All debris and ship parts remaining on the rocks were removed with no threat to the environment. -
Removal of chain around prop at sea
MCC were asked to assist a 24m vessel travelling from Queensland to New South Wales. The starboard side anchor came adrift and fouled the starboard propeller. An estimated 40m of anchor chain released and was still attached but hanging below the hull. MCC inspected and recovered the anchor and chain and the vessel continued her journey. -
Level 2 Bridge Inspection
MCC were asked to complete an urgent inspection of a 9 span bridge using specialised underwater inspection equipment. Steel wall thickness testing was carried out successfully. -
Installation of Swing Arm for Wave Recorder
MCC had fabricated and then installed a swing arm with wave recording instruments which can be lowered and retrieved and also locked in place with a twin winch at the end of the Tweed Sand Bypass Jetty. -
Pipe Plug Installation / Replacement at a Waste treatment Plant
MCC contaminated diving team had to isolate the pipeline to enable valves to be replaced at required times to suit the flow conditions of the treatment plant. When installed then MCC monitored and maintained pressure on the plugs to ensure isolation was maintained. When valves fitted and the pipeline pressure tested, MCC removed the plugs and handed control back to the client. -
War on Wrecks
MCC have been used to complete many removals for the "War on Wrecks" for the State Government in many different locations. We have used different vessels and barges, excavators and dive crews where necessary and then removing the wrecks to Rudy Maas Marina. Where possible, we recycle steel and other metals during the dismantling and disposal process. -
Installation of Wave Recorder
CSIRO requested a wave recorder be installed at the end of a jetty. -
Installation of Nautilus Metocean Buoy for Griffith University
to supply and install the anchoring and mooring of Nautilus Metocean Buoy east of South Stradbroke Island for Griffith University. Working closely with Laurence Hughes, designs were adapted for local conditions. -
Hay Point Diving & Demolition
MCC have been contracted for a number of years to provide divers, labourers, vessels and a Dive Decompression Chamber to Hay Point. These works are ongoing. -
The Gold Coast $70 m Long Term Recycled Water Release Plan Tow
MCC were contracted to pull the HDD Mud Return Line from The Spit to Main Beach. The 900-meter-long pipe was towed by our barges and tugs along the Broadwater from The Spit to Main Beach where it was installed under the Nerang River.The installation involved creation of a Marine Execution Plan and the removal of vessels and moorings and reinstallation after completion of the tow. The pipeline which was 1200mm OD and 90 tonne weight was finished with minimal disruption to the marine floor eco system. -
Pile Remediation
MCC undertook to rectify the corrosion protection system on piles. This was achieved through installation of STOPAQ pile jacketing system from the lower level of the tidal zone through to top of the piles.MCC utilised a rope access team for works above high water level. This project was completed successfully. -
Removal and Replacement of Dewatering Shutters
An automated electrically operated lock which allows boating access between a natural waterway and man made lakes required refurbishment. MCC removed the old dewatering shutters and guides,supplied and installed new ones -
Vessel Salvage Moreton Bay
MCC were asked to salvage an 11.3 m ketch from Moreton Bay. The vessel had been underwater for months. She was raised with slings to enable an horizontal lift from the seabed, then checked for positive buoyancy, made watertight and towed to Rudy Maas Marina vessel disposal yard -
Installation of Bio Security signs
Installation of Bio Security signs adjacent to a prawn farm in SE Queensland. The signs and 6000mm piles were installed through a combination of water jetting and manual driving from "Albatross" MCC's low draft work punt. -
national Park Salvage
A yacht beached and was stranded on a small sandy beach surrounded by rocky headlands within a National Park. The waters are designated marine park. Heavy equipment lifted in by Helicopter as there was no vehicle access. The keel bulb (weighing 3.25 tonnes) was buried in the sand. The vessel was successfully removed and towed to Brisbane -
RN Dredge "Balder R" Gold Coast Beach Nourishment Program
RN hopper dredge "Balder R" utilised MCC for ongoing maintenance eg. to locate and remove entanglements around prop. The dredge was used for the Beach Nourishment Program on the Gold Coast. She is 111m in length and gross tonnage 5189. -
Lismore Solar panel installation
To install the largest floating solar farm in Australia (2018). Comprising installation, load testing and anchoring of anchors on the bank of a contaminated pond and within the pond with 4 man dive team. Towing and positioning of assembled floating solar panels into nominated location. -

Condong Riverbank Stabilisation
Approximately 150 metres of riverbank adjacent to the Condong boat ramp was strengthened by works using a combination of geotextile bags and a rock wall to stop ongoing erosion. Sections of the riverbank protection included trialling geotextile, as well as the more traditional measure of rock walls. These works provides improved access for that section of the river. -
LNG GLADSTONE
MCC was responsible for the installation of the cathodic protection systems at GLNG, APLNG and QCLNG. Wet welding over 500 tonnes of aluminium anodes to the various steel structures. -
Navigation Aid Refurbishment
MCC were contracted or the supply of all plant, equipment, labour and material necessary for the execution of the whole of the Works required for the Brisbane Bar Cutting Aids to Navigation Maintenance & Replacement. Installation of new beacons, removal of beacons and maintenance to existing structures. A total of 15 navigation aids were involved in this contract. -
Pile wrapping
MCC was contracted to encapsulate asbestos pile casing on a public jetty in Coochiemudlo Island. The piles were cleaned, repaired, wrapped with denso tape and seashield jackets were installed. -
Cyclone Yasi Emergency Response
MCC was the operator appointed to clear the devastation wreaked by cyclone “Yasi” at Port Hinchinbrook - salvaging 91 vessels in 12 days then clearing the harbour bottom. -
Brisbane River Flood 2011
In January 2011, heavy rainfall caused massive flooding of the Brisbane River. MCC was called upon to assist with the recovery of debris and property. -
2000 tonne desalination barge salvage
MCC was called upon to assist in the refloat of a 50 metre x 17 metre 2,000 tonne dumb barge "Crest 181" which broke its moorings in wild seas and washed up on the beach at Tugun. -
Gold Coast artificial reef construction
MCC was a subcontractor for the construction of the geotextile artificial reef at Narrowneck.
